- c2p is same speed like a A1200 copying 2 longwords from fastmem to chipmem.
- As for tmapping games the A1200 can do c2p of one longwors at speed of copying
- one longword (with help of blitter), AKIKO is slower for games.

- Well, CIA regs are AFAIK even slower then chipmem. AKIKO is like fastmem.
-
- |> they? I'm getting tired of hearing AKIKO beats 040's and 030/50's when it's

- "If a 040 had access to a planar display with higher bandwidth than AGA,
- so that it has too little free cycles to get c2p for free, a AKIKO
- chip, if still waitstate free for 040, would do faster c2p"
-
- ;)
-
-
-
- Well there is usage for AKIKO:
- Imagine a realtimish effect, where even 020-14 is to do one pass.
- 020-14 doing one pass is same cpu load like 020-14 doing akiko c2p.
-
- fullscreen 1x1 this would mean 2 frames cpu load (both), but blitter
- 4 frames busy when not having AKIKO.
-
- So if 020-14 does a 320x256 1x1 effect faster than the remaining 2
- frames (such as flat-shaded polygons ;) ;) then AKIKO is better.
-
- For tmapping games, 020-14+fast beeing 2 times faster copying
- than AKIKOing (and blitter doing full c2p), AKIKO is worse.
-
- In practice you won't notice much difference.
-
- Maybe AKIKO has slight advantages on chip-only systems, I don't know,
- but it's surely not a thing you can't do fast games without!
-
- AKIKO was IMHO made for lazy game companies not wanting to waste
- time on conversion rouitines.
-
- If C= had thought more about the possibilities of blitter, they could
- have spent the money in developing a library instead cutting CD32 off
- that you really can't use it as computer (without buying SX-1 which
- was almost the price of an A1200).
- OS V40 seems to give 1x2 screens, what shows they began to think
- when they alreay had released A1200/A4000.
-
- Imagine CD32 would have had a A1200 motherboard. I would have bought
- it, added keyboard and diskdrive, and voila, a extremely cheap A1200CD!
